Malolos, Bulacan — As part of the Feast of Immaculate Conception, Malolos bishop Dennis Villarojo presided the 'Misa Concelebracion’ at the Malolos Cathedral on Thursday, December 8.

In his homily, Villarojo reminded everyone to ask God about things they do not understand.

He also pointed out to seek help from others with knowledge on one's problems.

"Kinakailangan nating magsuri.

Marian devotees from different parts of Bulacan attended the event.

One of them was Melba Camito-Esteban, a 60 year-old devotee from Malolos.

Soledad Coronel, 67, is happy, now that the eased pandemic restrictions have brought back some traditions for the feast.

"Nanumbalik ‘yung dating okasyon. Yung sama-samang nagsisimba, may prusisyon," Coronel said.

After a series of hourly masses, the feast ended with a procession of Marian and non-Marian images that lasted for about 30 minutes.

Festivities and devotions on Immaculate Conception can be traced back to 1854, when Pope Pius IX affirmed the dogma that Mary was free of sin when she conceived Jesus.
