Members of the fraternity Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Epsilon Kappa Chapter showed off their advocacies for their 14th freedom run at Bulacan State Universty’s 118th foundation week today, December 9.

Ending discrimination and contractualization, wage increase, and farmers’ rights were some of the societal issues the fraternity rallied.

Kat, a third year student from the College of Education (COEd), shared what she felt when she witnessed the freedom run for the first time. "Nakaka-trauma. Gano'n pala feeling kapag madaming titi," she said.

"Kaya siguro may takip 'yun [mukha nila] para hindi sila ma-judge, para ma-express nila sarili nila kaya tumakbo silang nakahubad," she added when asked whether she knew why freedom runs existed.

Meanwhile, it was Carl Anthony from the College of Engineering’s first time to receive a rose from one of the frat men of Alpha Phi.

"Nakaka-overwhelm, sobrang nanginig 'yung laman ko."

Marren, the prime lady chancellor of the fraternity, hoped that BulSUans watched the freedom run not to sexualize their members, but to focus on the message that they wanted to share.

When asked about why they give roses, Marren shared that it was a form of connecting to people.

"'Yung pagbigay ni runner kay audience ng roses, sini-symbolize na ikaw binibigyan kita ng flower kasi para sa 'yo 'tong message na 'to."

The Epsilon Kappa Chapter was founded in 1975 when Bulacan State University was still called Bulacan College of Arts and Trades (BCAT).
