Bocaue firework vendors said that the number of customers is far more different than the pre-pandemic season.
This is due to the almost-doubled price increase to every kind of pyrotechnic, firecrackers, and firework display caused by inflation and supply shortage of needed ingredients.
Yesterday, December 6, the inflation rate of the country hit 8%, the highest recorded rate in 14 years according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
The aerial fireworks’ price, which used to be P1,800 before, now ranges from P2,500-P45,000 depending on the number of shots, while single-colored lucis (silver) is P160/ 5 pieces and multi-colored is P180/5 pieces, and ‘crossfire’ is P600.
Moreover, the fountain's price is P35 up to P250 depending on the size and duration; ‘sputnik’ is P200; while 500 and 1000 rounds of ‘Sinturon ni Hudas’ is P500 and P1000 respectively; and ‘Kwitis’ is nine pesos each.
Bocaue vendors said that the price will increase next week until the end of the year.
Meanwhile, some firework stores are now not targeting the 24/7 schedule and only limiting to 10 AM until 9 PM at night.
