A man who was caught in the act of making firecrackers illegally is set to touch the jail bars after being arrested during a police operation conducted at Sitio Bihunan, Brgy Biñang 1st, Bocaue, Bulacan last November 18.

The suspect was identified as Renato Siongco Jr., 45, a painter from the said village.
According to PNP Provincial Director PCol. Relly Arnedo, the estimated cost of the confiscated products is worth P50,000 which includes 145 cubes of pla-pla, 37 pcs kabasi, 27pcs kwiton, 19 pcs dugong, 2 pcs 1k rounds sawa, 200 pcs no stick big kwitis, 1 orocan assorted paraphernalia, 40 pcs cubes of pla-pla (loaded), 29 pcs coned whistle, 124 pcs mini kwiton, 10 bundle kwitis, 102 pcs no stick kwitis, and 1 sack assorted finished/unfinished firecrackers.
Siongco will be held liable for criminal complaints under violation of RA 7183: An Act Regulating the Sale, Manufacture, Distribution and Use of Firecrackers and Other Pyrotechnic Devices.
As the fireworks season is nearly approaching, Regional Director of PRO3 PBGEN Cesar Pasiwen directed the Bulacan police to go against illegal manufacturers of pyrotechnics and firecrackers to lessen unwanted incidents.
With the recent mishap that happened in Sta. Maria, Bulacan, where an illegal fireworks factory exploded, the authorities heightened their operation to prevent such things from happening.
